The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has confirmed plans to introduce a new Gateway brand hotel in Mahapura, Jaipur, a strategic greenfield development resulting from a partnership with the Jaipur-based Shri Modi Group. This addition is being positioned to serve the city’s expanding identity as both a cultural attraction and a significant commercial hub, moving beyond its traditional base of leisure tourists and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events. The hotel’s site along the NH48 (Jaipur-Ajmer Road) is key, offering travelers efficient access to both the city’s commercial zones and its famous historical attractions, such as the Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal.
IHCL Executive Vice President, Suma Venkatesh, highlighted the growing demand for accommodations that cater specifically to the rise in business travel, noting that Jaipur’s substantial infrastructural development has solidified its status as a multifaceted destination. The new property will feature 161 keys, comprising a mix of well-appointed rooms and suites. To ensure a comprehensive guest experience, the hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and bar, a swimming pool, and a modern fitness center. Crucially for the MICE segment, it will house a 9,000 sq ft banquet hall, designed to host large corporate events, conferences, and social gatherings. The collaboration with the Shri Modi Group, a multi-generational conglomerate with diverse interests in real estate, mining, and jewelry since 1968, underscores a mutual commitment to supporting the region’s economic expansion. Managing Director Antariksh Modi noted the partnership as a significant step in addressing the increasing need for high-quality hospitality options. Upon opening, this hotel will bring IHCL’s total presence in Jaipur to 16 properties, including five currently in the development pipeline. This continued investment is expected to bolster the city’s capacity, accommodate the growing influx of domestic and international visitors, and solidify Jaipur’s reputation on the global travel map.
