The inaugural International MICE Summit (IMS24) continued its momentum in exploring the next chapter of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry as titans of the industry and government leaders discuss the future of events, as well as their effect on national economies.
Sessions delved into issues key to developing the next generation of events, including sustainability, size and scale, the impact of technological advances, and MICE as a catalyst for national investment and growth.
“Events and meetings are more than just the event. It is about the people, the experience and the larger macroenvironment and showcasing Saudi Arabia to the world,” said SCEGA CEO Hattim Alkahily. “The Kingdom is ready to be the premiere global MICE hub and we continue to enhance our offerings, infrastructure and capabilities in line with Vision 2030 to provide the best experience possible for all who come.”
In addition to sessions, four MOUs were signed between event host, the The Saudi Conventions & Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA) and the Public Health Authority, the International Congress and Conference Association (ICCA) and event partner Eye of Riyadh, the Saudi Entertainment Academy (SEA) and the Global Association for the Exhibition Industry (UFI), and the Saudi Exhibitions and Conferences Authority (SECA) and SEA. These MOUs further solidify the drive within the Kingdom to facilitate the MICE via the commitment to launching training programs and form partnerships for excellence.
The program will continue past the mainstage programming as UFI and SCEGA convene key industry executives to discuss Saudi Arabia’s plan to continue it’s drive to becoming the global events hub, including it’s operations, regulatory and policy model.
IMS24 continues on Tuesday with the theme “Spotlight on Saudi Arabia,” focusing on local leadership, initiatives, growth and trailblazers within the industry.
