Cruise Baltic has just launched its new strategy ‘Responsible Cruising’. Over 30 ports and destinations in the Baltic Sea region have joined forces to support and endorse forward-looking values and goals for the cruise industry. The aim of the strategy is to define the sustainable cruise tourism of tomorrow while re-establishing cruising to exceed pre-pandemic levels.

With its new strategy ‘Responsible Cruising’, Cruise Baltic aims to increase knowledge sharing and re-establish cruising in the region to exceed pre-pandemic levels. The key elements in bringing ‘Responsible Cruising’ to life is the collaboration between the 32 partners in the Cruise Baltic network and the dialogues with external stakeholders.

”It is when we join forces that we can make a real difference. This is reflected in our new strategy that aims to inspire our partners and stakeholders to connect, collaborate and share knowledge under common values and goals for a sustainable and responsible cruise tourism. Together, we can accelerate the transition of the cruise industry,” says Klaus Bondam, Director of Cruise Baltic.

Responsible Cruising is presented by Cruise Baltic as its strategy from 2023 to 2026. In this period, partners from the cruise network will work on strengthening the narrative of the region. The new narrative will showcase the diversity of each destination and reasons to go developed by the destinations in order to regain market shares.

The purpose of the new strategy is to better equip and enable the industry to adjust to unforeseen circumstances and enhance collaboration internally among partners in the cruise network as well as externally with stakeholders. One of the focal points of this work is sustainability and defining tomorrow’s cruise tourism, where sustainability will be essential for future work with targeting both cruise lines, small ship cruise lines and travel agents.

Cruise Baltic was founded in 2004 and is a B2B network of 32 cruise ports in the Baltic Sea region aiming to promote the region towards cruise lines and travel agents. The network offers all cruise lines easy access, great service, high standards, and full integration between ports and cities throughout the region.
