Madrid is set to host the highly anticipated Advantage Conference 2026 from May 11-14, 2026, bringing together global travel leaders, tourism boards, airlines, cruise operators, hotel groups, technology firms, and MICE specialists for one of Europe’s leading travel industry gatherings. Organised by the Advantage Travel Partnership, the conference will take place at the renowned Meliá Castilla, reinforcing Madrid’s growing stature as a premier international destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

Held under the theme “Powered by People,” the conference will focus on major industry priorities including artificial intelligence, sustainability, digital transformation, aviation disruptions, corporate travel recovery, and the future of human-centric tourism services. Delegates from countries including the UK, Spain, India, UAE, Germany, Singapore, Australia, and the United States are expected to participate, creating a global platform for collaboration and business networking.

The four-day programme will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions, supplier exhibitions, workshops, speed networking meetings, and destination experiences across Madrid. Technology journalist and broadcaster Georgie Barrat will moderate discussions centred on how AI can support, rather than replace, human expertise in the travel industry. Sessions will also address geopolitical challenges, sustainability regulations, changing traveller expectations, and future travel trends shaping the global tourism ecosystem.

According to Julia Lo Bue-Said, Madrid was selected for its exceptional accessibility, cultural richness, and position as a global hub for leisure and business travel. The Spanish capital’s strong aviation connectivity, modern convention infrastructure, and thriving hospitality sector continue to attract large-scale international events.

Beyond industry dialogue, the conference is also expected to generate significant economic impact for Madrid by boosting hotel occupancy, restaurant business, transportation services, and local tourism activity. As Spain intensifies its focus on business tourism, the event is expected to further strengthen Madrid’s global visibility as a leading destination for conferences, innovation, and international travel collaboration.
