Dubai Airports continue to remain operational as of April 1, 2026, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with airlines adopting a cautious yet proactive approach to maintain connectivity between India and Gulf destinations.
The Air India Group, including Air India Express, has confirmed that it will operate a total of 30 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from West Asia. These include a mix of services across key destinations such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, subject to regulatory approvals and operational conditions.
Out of these, a significant portion includes ad-hoc flights to UAE destinations like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, aimed at supporting stranded passengers and maintaining essential travel routes. However, some regular scheduled services remain temporarily suspended due to the evolving situation.
Meanwhile, IndiGo has released a detailed list of flights scheduled to operate on April 1, while cautioning passengers that schedules remain dynamic and subject to last-minute changes. The airline has urged travellers to check their flight status before heading to the airport and to stay updated through official communication channels.
Airlines across the region, including Air India and IndiGo, are closely monitoring developments and adjusting operations to prioritise passenger safety. Despite disruptions in regional airspace in recent weeks, flight services are gradually stabilising, though under restricted and closely managed conditions.
Industry observers note that while connectivity between India and the Gulf remains intact, flexibility in travel planning is crucial. Passengers are advised to stay informed, remain prepared for potential schedule changes, and allow additional time for travel formalities.
As the situation continues to evolve, airlines are expected to maintain a cautious operational strategy while ensuring continuity of essential air travel services.
