Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Homeinns Hotel Group announced that their respective subsidiaries have entered into a strategic master franchise agreement to introduce the Hyatt Studios hotel brand to the Chinese market. This collaboration is designed to expand Hyatt’s portfolio within the upper-midscale, extended-stay segment in the region.

The agreement makes use of Hyatt and Homeinns’ individual hospitality industry resources and experience. According to the agreement, Homeinns Hotel Group intends to build a pipeline to facilitate future expansion in important business and tourism destinations throughout China, especially in first and second-tier cities, and open at least 50 Hyatt Studios-branded hotels there over the course of the next few years.

Part of Hyatt’s Essentials portfolio, Hyatt Studios offers studio-style rooms, kitchenettes, and dedicated workspaces in an effort to satisfy the growing demand for longer-stay lodging. While providing top-notch, modern guest experiences, the brand places a high priority on an efficient operating structure and scalable development model that can be adjusted to meet the demands of local markets.

The agreement strengthens Hyatt’s capacity to serve more guest occasions in more cities in one of its most significant markets, according to Stephen Ho, President – Greater China and Growth, Asia Pacific.

The CEO and chairman of the Homeinns Hotel Group, David Sun, said he was confident in the team’s work. The partnership will concentrate on creating a customized and localized experience for the Chinese market, he added, citing the UrCove brand’s successful launch as the cornerstone of this new endeavor. Members of the World of Hyatt loyalty program will also have more options thanks to the planned properties.
