Global hospitality giant IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a management agreement with Emproy Hospitality LLP to develop a new Holiday Inn Resort in Lonavala, reinforcing the company’s expanding presence across India’s high-growth leisure destinations. The agreement was formalised in early December 2025, marking another milestone in IHG’s strategic expansion within the country’s robust hospitality market.
Slated to open in 2027, the Holiday Inn Resort Lonavala will feature 100 well-appointed rooms and a range of amenities designed to appeal to both domestic and international travellers seeking serene getaways amidst nature. The property will include three distinct dining options, a swimming pool, spa facilities, and a fitness centre, combining modern comfort with the trusted hospitality standards of the Holiday Inn brand.
Located along the NH-48 Expressway, the resort’s positioning offers excellent accessibility and visibility along one of the region’s most heavily-traveled corridors, making it a convenient destination for weekend breaks, business retreats, and social events. Its scenic surroundings are expected to attract guests looking for a blend of leisure and relaxation within easy reach of major Maharashtrian cities such as Mumbai and Pune.
Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director for South West Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said that the company was “thrilled to expand its presence in one of West India’s most sought-after leisure destinations.” He underlined that the Lonavala resort signing reflects IHG’s broader commitment to deepen its footprint in key travel and tourism hubs across the country, ensuring travellers have access to globally recognised hospitality brands and memorable experiences.
From the development partner’s perspective, Rajeev Jain, Managing Partner of Emproy Hospitality LLP, said the collaboration with IHG aligns with the firm’s vision to bring world-class hospitality offerings to India’s growing leisure travel markets. He added that leveraging IHG’s operational expertise and international standards will help set a new benchmark for resort-style accommodation in Lonavala.
The announcement of the Holiday Inn Resort Lonavala comes amid a period of accelerated growth for IHG Hotels & Resorts in India, as the company continues to sign new properties across urban and leisure segments. With an already expanding pipeline of properties under various brands within the country, the Lonavala resort further underscores IHG’s confidence in India’s tourism potential and its long-term commitment to delivering high-quality hospitality experiences.
