The airline IndiGo announced that its flight operations have stabilized, reporting a return to its standard On-Time Performance (OTP) after a period of widespread network disruption. A spokesperson confirmed that the carrier’s entire network of 138 destinations has been fully reconnected since December 8, with overall operations stabilizing a day later on December 9.

The airline stated that its schedule has been reliable for the last three days, with minimal same-day cancellations attributed only to uncontrollable factors such as weather or technical glitches. For the day of the announcement, IndiGo anticipated operating over 1,950 flights, serving approximately 300,000 customers. This marks a recovery from a period of severe operational chaos that saw thousands of flights cancelled and delayed across the country.

The disruptions in the preceding weeks were primarily linked to the implementation of new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms, which exposed an acute pilot shortage within the airline. The crisis had drawn significant regulatory scrutiny, with the government and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordering the carrier to curtail its winter schedule to ensure stability.

An IndiGo spokesperson emphasized the incremental improvement in service, stating, “Our commitment to operational excellence has led to significant efficiency gains, and our On-time Performance has been restored.” The airline concluded that it continues to focus on safety, efficiency, and customer support as it works with authorities to normalize its operations further.
