TMS. Can you share your journey into investment and entrepreneurship – especially what led you to take on the role of Chairman at One Tribe Global?
Jack Cresswell. My journey into investment and entrepreneurship began over two decades ago in the world of global mobile telecoms where I founded and later successfully exited a consumer business. This experience gave me deep insights into business innovation and the power of technology to scale solutions. From there, I transitioned into early-stage investment into pioneering FinTech and GreenTech ventures, including regenerative impact investing, leading me to first invest in One Tribe (onetribe.com) back in 2019.
What drew me to the role at One Tribe was the company’s unique position at the intersection of technology, climate action, and business solutions. One Tribe’s platform
seamlessly integrates climate impact into commerce, enabling businesses to fund verified rainforest protection and carbon projects at scale. Aligning with my mission to build an “Earth Positive” economy—one that fully accounts for nature—felt like a natural evolution. Joining as Chairman allowed me to guide strategic direction while leveraging my expertise in risk, innovation, and sustainable finance to accelerate global impact.
TMS. One Tribe operates at the intersection of climate action, carbon management, and business value creation. What part of that mission resonates most with you as Chairman?
Jack Cresswell. The part that resonates most deeply with me is the creation of genuine business value through authentic climate action. Too often, sustainability efforts are siloed as “cost centers” or mere compliance exercises. One Tribe flips this script by making climate impact visible, verified, and valuable—driving customer loyalty, brand differentiation, and revenue growth for partners. As someone who’s spent my career bridging finance and innovation, I see enormous potential in embedding nature into economic systems. One Tribe’s approach—using tech to connect everyday transactions to high-integrity carbon projects—creates a flywheel: businesses reduce risk, meet science-based targets, and share transparent impact with stakeholders, all while funding rainforest protection that stores massive amounts of CO2 and preserves biodiversity. This isn’t charity; it’s smart, scalable capitalism that aligns profit with planetary health. It resonates because it proves doing the right thing can—and should—fuel business success.
TMS. Technology and data are increasingly critical in sustainability efforts – how does One Tribe leverage innovation to support measurable impact?
Jack Cresswell. One Tribe is built on innovation from the ground up. Our Climate Action Platform uses an API that integrates directly with e-commerce, payment systems, and business operations, allowing automatic funding of verified projects with every transaction or sale. This makes climate action frictionless and embedded in core business flows.
Key innovations include:
Real-time tracking and dashboards: Businesses get live data on trees protected, CO2 stored, and project-specific impact, all backed by leading registries and science.
Portfolio building tools: We curate high-integrity offsets (nature-based removals, renewable energy, restoration) to minimize risk and align with science-based targets.
Customer engagement features: Verified impact pages, widgets, and incentives that turn sustainability into a marketing advantage—increasing conversions, loyalty, and stakeholder trust.
Data-driven verification: Partnering with top carbon scientists and standards (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard), we ensure every contribution delivers measurable, auditable results—like protecting endangered rainforests that sequester carbon far more efficiently than new planting.
This tech stack turns abstract “sustainability” into concrete, shareable proof, empowering thousands of brands to achieve net-zero goals with transparency and scale.
TMS. With climate policy and market dynamics changing rapidly, where do you see the biggest opportunities for growth over the next 5 years?
Jack Cresswell. The next five years will see explosive growth in mandatory reporting, consumer demand for transparency, and voluntary carbon markets maturing into high-integrity systems. The biggest opportunities lie in:
Integration with regulated frameworks: As policies like CSRD (EU), SEC rules, and science-based targets become standard, businesses will need seamless tools for Scope 3 emissions and insets. One Tribe’s platform is primed to help companies not just offset, but embed avoidance and reduction through nature-based solutions.
E-commerce and consumer-facing scale: With eco-conscious shoppers willing to pay premiums for sustainable brands, automating impact per purchase will drive massive adoption—potentially onboarding tens of thousands of online brands globally.
Corporate net-positive ambitions: Beyond net-zero, leaders are aiming for “net positive.” Protecting existing rainforests (which store 100x more carbon than new trees) offers cost-effective, high-impact pathways, especially with rising demand for biodiversity credits.
Emerging tech synergies: Blockchain for traceable credits, AI for optimized portfolios, and exponential tools to include nature in global accounting systems.
Overall, the opportunity is in democratizing access: making enterprise-grade climate action affordable and automatic for SMEs, while delivering outsized planetary benefits. One Tribe is positioned to lead this shift, protecting billions of trees and enabling true business-led regeneration.
