In the first half of 2024, Morocco attracted 7.5 million tourists from around the world, marking a 15% increase compared to the previous year. The country is aiming to reach a total of 15.5 million tourists by the end of the year.

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) has reported a significant 41% increase in Indian tourists up to June 2024. This surge is noteworthy as it coincides with MNTO’s inaugural year of operations in India, with the goal of achieving a 45% growth by the year’s end.

To achieve its long-term target of drawing 100,000 Indian visitors by 2026, MNTO has been actively working to build strong connections within the Indian travel sector. Recent promotional roadshows in Delhi and Mumbai have been instrumental in developing partnerships with various tour operators and engaging media representatives. These efforts have been crucial in boosting Morocco’s profile as a top travel destination.

Additionally, MNTO organized a successful familiarization (FAM) trip, offering key tour operators an opportunity to experience Morocco’s unique attractions firsthand. This initiative received outstanding feedback and played a significant role in enhancing Morocco’s image among Indian travel professionals.

This year, MNTO is also focusing on promoting Morocco’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector. The office is working to position Morocco as a leading venue for international business events and attract MICE companies to consider Morocco as their destination of choice.
