Odisha Tourism Conclave Highlights State’s Vision for Global Growth and Employment

At the sixth Odisha Tourism Conclave held in Bhubaneswar, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati highlighted Odisha’s growing potential to emerge as a premier global tourism destination. Addressing a gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, and tourism stakeholders, he underscored the vital role of tourism in shaping the state’s economic future.

The Governor emphasized that tourism is not just about promoting scenic spots or cultural heritage-it is a powerful engine for inclusive growth, sustainable livelihoods, and job creation. By tapping into its diverse offerings, from heritage temples and serene beaches to vibrant festivals and eco-tourism zones, Odisha aims to position itself prominently on the international tourism map.

A comprehensive roadmap has been laid out to transform Odisha into a globally recognized tourism hub. This includes infrastructure development, strategic marketing campaigns, community involvement, and skill development for the local workforce. The objective is not only to attract more international and domestic tourists but also to foster economic opportunities across urban and rural areas alike.

Governor Kambhampati expressed optimism that these sustained efforts will contribute significantly to making Odisha a developed state by 2036, in line with the broader vision of a developed India by 2047. He called for collaborative efforts from all stakeholders to ensure that the tourism sector remains resilient, innovative, and inclusive.
