The Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) highlighted India’s MICE potential at the second edition of the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC) in Moscow. With the theme “Global Challenges and Trends of the MICE Industry: Towards Sustainable Development through the Prism of Experience and Knowledge of BRICS Countries and the Global South,” the event attracted over 1,300 global business tourism professionals.

The OTOAI delegation, led by President Himanshu Kesari Patil, included Vice President Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary Siddhartha Khanna, Past President Riaz Munshi, and EC Member ADL Abdul Karim. Their participation underscored India’s expanding role in the MICE sector and strengthened international ties, reinforcing the country’s presence in global business tourism.

MGMC 2024 featured 13 expert-led sessions with more than 50 global speakers, covering topics like advancements in congress infrastructure and emerging technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. Over 2,000 B2B meetings were held, allowing OTOAI members to connect, explore new markets, and deepen relationships within the BRICS and global MICE communities.

Cultural initiatives, including Made in Moscow and Moscow Tea Time, fostered cross-cultural collaboration and showcased the evolving trends within the MICE industry. As Moscow strengthens its reputation as a business tourism hub, MGMC 2024 reaffirmed its role as a key platform for global leaders to address industry challenges and explore sustainable opportunities.
