Radisson Hotel Group is rapidly expanding its footprint in India, having signed 33 new hotels in 2025 – including several in tier‑2 cities – and opened 15 properties this year. Over the past 18 months, the group has added 59 new deals to its Indian portfolio, reflecting its commitment to India’s growing hospitality market.
The expansion plan encompasses both new signings and conversions, targeting a mix of urban centers, emerging tier‑2 cities, and popular leisure destinations. Among the noteworthy upcoming properties are a luxury Radisson Collection Resort & Spa in Jaipur, a resort in Ranchi, and modern Radisson RED hotels in Bengaluru and Puri. Several new Radisson Blu hotels are also planned for locations including Goa, Deoghar, Pawna Lake, Lucknow, and Ludhiana – highlighting the group’s focus on varied segments from luxury to business and leisure stays.
This strategy reflects broader shifts in India’s travel and tourism landscape: growing domestic demand, improving infrastructure, and rising interest in travel beyond major metros. Tier‑2 cities such as Lucknow, Ludhiana, and Deoghar are gaining popularity among both business and leisure travellers, making them increasingly attractive to hotel chains. By expanding into these markets, Radisson aims to capture a growing middle‑class demand for quality accommodations at more accessible price points.
Looking ahead, Radisson aims to operate 140 hotels across India by the end of 2025 and plans to cross 150 properties by 2026. Its current development pipeline includes 70 additional hotels – a move that could significantly enhance its presence nationwide and strengthen its role in India’s hospitality boom.
Recent performance indicators also reflect positive momentum: Radisson has posted a 7% increase in average daily rates (ADR), underscoring healthy demand and improved pricing power. Despite some regional headwinds, the broader outlook for the company remains optimistic, supported by its strategic focus on high-growth markets, both in metro cities and emerging regions.
By entering both high-demand urban markets and emerging tier‑2 cities, and by offering accommodations across luxury, business, and leisure segments, Radisson is positioning itself as a key driver of India’s evolving tourism and hospitality industry. The group’s expansion is expected not only to meet rising travel demand, but also to contribute to local economies through job creation and enhanced tourism infrastructure – supporting India’s broader goals of boosting tourism and regional development.
