The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) successfully delivered a spectacular 68th Annual Convention and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi from 17–19 September 2025, raising the bar for industry gatherings.

Bringing together over 540 delegates, the three-day event blended knowledge, networking, culture, and entertainment into an unforgettable experience. What stood out most was the scale of achievement—conceptualized, planned, and executed in just six weeks—an accomplishment hailed as extraordinary by attendees.

Knowledge & Networking at Its Best

The convention featured two full days of knowledge sessions, held at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen Ballroom. Distinguished industry leaders, including Mr. Peiters Elbers, CEO of IndiGo Airlines, and Ms. Alexis Guest, Vice President, Global Operators at Travelport, delivered impactful addresses. Sessions covered key issues facing the industry and were praised for their quality, design, and relevance.

The B2B India Travel & Tourism Expo was another highlight, with 43 tabletop stalls attracting overwhelming footfall. Exhibitors described it as one of the most successful networking platforms of its kind.

A Celebration of Industry Leadership

The opening ceremony welcomed top dignitaries from Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism and the Indian Embassy. Among the guests were His Excellency Saleh Al Geziry, Director General of the Tourism Sector, and Mr. A. Amarnath, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy.

TAAI also introduced its new Distinguished Leader Award of the Year, honouring Mr. Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global, for his visionary leadership and contributions to the industry.

Culture, Entertainment & Memorable Experiences

Delegates were treated to a remarkable cultural showcase, including exclusive tours of Abu Dhabi landmarks such as Qasr Al Watan Palace, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and more. The theme “Business with Goodness” came alive at the BAPS Temple Convention Hall, where His Holiness Swami Brahmaviharidas addressed participants.

Evenings were filled with vibrant entertainment—ranging from live bands and DJs to the traditional Ayyala Dance, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. Gala dinners were hosted at iconic venues including the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, ONE OCEAN at SeaWorld Yas Island, and the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi.
