Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) is focusing on expanding its footprint in India’s rapidly growing outbound tourism market, aiming for a 20% increase in Indian visitors. Speaking at SATTE 2025, Paul Shih, Director of TTA’s Singapore Office, revealed the agency’s goal to surpass 38,000 Indian arrivals to Taiwan in 2024. This is part of a broader effort to attract more international tourists, with Taiwan targeting a total of 7.5 million visitors for the year.

India’s growing interest in international travel presents a huge opportunity for Taiwan’s tourism sector. Shih’s visit to India was aimed at enhancing trade partnerships and deepening Taiwan’s ties with the Indian travel and tourism industry. During his trip, he held meetings with key industry stakeholders, including travel agencies, tour operators, and government representatives, to discuss collaborative initiatives that will help boost tourism exchanges.

Taiwan’s diverse attractions, including its rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and modern cities, are increasingly appealing to Indian travelers. As India continues to emerge as one of the largest sources of outbound tourism globally, Taiwan is positioning itself as an attractive destination, offering tailored experiences and improved accessibility.

Through strengthened partnerships and joint promotions, Taiwan aims to leverage the growing travel demand from India, ensuring long-term growth in its tourism sector. With a focused strategy on enhancing trade collaborations, Taiwan hopes to cement its position as a leading destination for Indian tourists in the coming years.
