Uber has introduced Uber Shikara , offering tourists the option to pre-book their boat rides on Dal Lake via the Uber app. This limited-time service allows travelers to conveniently reserve their Shikara rides ahead of time, ensuring they can fully enjoy the breathtaking views of Dal Lake in Srinagar during the upcoming busy holiday season.
To support tourism in this beautiful region, Uber is waiving all fees for Shikara rides booked through the app. The entire fare will be directed to the Shikara drivers, creating additional economic opportunities for local tourism workers in Jammu and Kashmir. Each Uber Shikara ride is available for up to 1 hour and can accommodate up to 4 passengers. Uber Shikara rides can be booked up to 12 hours in advance and as far as 15 days ahead.
In a first for Dal Lake’s iconic rides, Uber has also introduced trip insurance for all Uber Shikara journeys, providing travelers with complete peace of mind as they take in the breathtaking scenery of Srinagar, just in time for the winter travel season.
