The Swiss Education Group and Samagra Shiksha Uttarakhand have signed a collaboration agreement to train school children in the tourism and hospitality industries.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand was also present at the event. He said, “Uttarakhand has significant job potential in the tourism and hospitality industries, and by becoming proficient in these fields, our students will be better prepared to take advantage of these opportunities.”
The agreement was signed by Hiraj Artinian, executive director of Swiss Education Group, and Banshidhar Tiwari, project director of Samagra Shiksha.
CM Dhami further said that the state administration is always working to boost tourism. Along with the promotion of religious, spiritual, and adventure tourism, he stated that various steps are being taken to increase eco-tourism, wellness, and hospitality.
Thousands of devotees travel across Uttarakhand for the Chardham Yatra, and the state administration seeks to encourage year-round travel by visitors and pilgrims.
Moreover, CM Dhami stated that this agreement will serve as an opportunity in the future for advancement in the fields of tourism and hospitality for youngsters in grades 9 through 12. Both of these industries have a lot of job opportunities in Uttarakhand. Students from the state will have several job options if they develop competency in these areas through training. He emphasized that the state administration is making ongoing efforts to boost tourism. Many efforts are being made in the state to encourage religious, spiritual, and adventure tourism, as well as eco-tourism and wellness tourism. The state is also receiving many offers in the field of hospitality, owing to the high potential in this sector.
