Himachal CM Prioritizes Tourism Development with Rs 2,415 Crore Investment

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated on Monday that the tourism sector remains a vital part of the state’s economy, with the government focused on expediting ongoing projects to enhance the experience for visiting tourists.

During a review of the Tourism Department’s projects, CM Sukhu revealed that the state would allocate Rs 2,415 crore to boost tourism infrastructure in the coming years.

Among the key initiatives, he highlighted the development of Shiv Dham in Mandi district, which will receive an investment of Rs 150.27 crore. Additionally, the beautification of Baba Balak Nath Temple in Hamirpur district will be carried out at a cost of Rs 51.70 crore. Further, Rs 78.09 crore will be invested in the beautification of Nagrorta Bagwan and Palampur town in Kangra district.

CM Sukhu also directed the tourism department to obtain operational approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the seamless operation of helicopter services at existing heliports, including those in Sanjauli and Rampur (Shimla district), Kangani Dhar (Mandi district), and Baddi (Solan district).
