The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) marked a significant milestone with the successful completion of its first-ever international roadshow, the ‘Namaste India Showcase’, held from 6–11 March 2026. The multi-city European initiative spanned Frankfurt, Paris, and Amsterdam, strengthening tourism ties between India and key European markets.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Indian diplomatic missions in the respective countries, the roadshow was exclusively partnered by Air India and powered by Travel Turtle. The initiative followed the global travel trade engagement at ITB Berlin, aiming to directly connect with leading European travel agents and tour operators.
Designed as a focused B2B platform, the showcase enabled Indian tourism stakeholders to engage with travel professionals across the three cities, fostering stronger business relationships and enhancing destination awareness. Discussions throughout the roadshow revolved around evolving traveller preferences, experiential itineraries, cultural immersion, luxury travel, and wellness tourism—segments that continue to attract strong interest from European travellers.
A key highlight of the showcase was the emphasis on India’s diverse tourism offerings, including heritage circuits, boutique hospitality, and premium travel experiences. Luxury train journeys such as the Maharajas’ Express, represented by Ebix Travels, garnered notable attention from travel professionals seeking to expand high-end offerings for their clientele.
Commenting on the initiative, Ravi Gosain, President of IATO, underscored the importance of direct engagement with international travel trade partners. He noted that Europe remains a key source market for India and that such initiatives play a vital role in building meaningful relationships while showcasing the depth and diversity of India’s tourism experiences. He further highlighted that the strong response from the travel trade reflects growing interest in India among European travellers.
The roadshow also witnessed active participation from Indian diplomatic missions, reinforcing a collaborative approach towards promoting India as a preferred global destination. The engagements across Frankfurt, Paris, and Amsterdam demonstrated strong enthusiasm among European travel professionals to deepen their understanding of India’s offerings and develop tailored itineraries for their markets.
The successful conclusion of the tri-city showcase marks a significant step in IATO’s ongoing efforts to expand India’s tourism outreach globally. Through initiatives like the ‘Namaste India Showcase’, IATO continues to strengthen partnerships between Indian tourism stakeholders and the international travel trade, positioning India as a destination defined by cultural richness, experiential travel, and world-class hospitality.
In his concluding remarks, Ravi Gosain expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Indian Embassies and High Commissions in Frankfurt, Paris, and the Netherlands for their support in organising the roadshow. He also acknowledged the presence of Shuchita Kishore and Kumar Tuhin at the respective events, and appreciated the continued partnership and support extended by Air India.
