The Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML), located at Teen Murti Marg in New Delhi, is positioning itself as a leading experiential tourism attraction, aiming to reach one million visitors through strategic industry collaboration. In a key initiative, the SATTE partnered with PMML to organise a familiarisation (FAM) tour, engaging travel trade professionals and media to showcase its immersive offerings.

The tour was attended by key stakeholders including Ashwani Lohani, Priyanka Mishra, Garud Rahul Deelip, Financial Controller, PMML, and Pallavi Mehra. The initiative highlighted PMML as a unique blend of history, culture, and cutting-edge technology, documenting India’s democratic journey and contributions of its Prime Ministers.

Spread across a 30-acre campus, PMML integrates the historic 1929 Lutyens-designed residence of Jawaharlal Nehru with the modern Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. The complex houses over 4 lakh books, a vast archive of nearly 30 million documents linked to 1,300 prominent figures, and the region’s only planetarium. Since opening in April 2022, it has attracted over 640,000 visitors annually, with peak daily footfall ranging between 1,000 and 1,500.

Designed as a tech-driven experience, PMML features immersive attractions such as ‘Bhavishya ki Jhalkiyan’ (virtual helicopter ride), ‘Desh Suraksha’ exhibits, ‘Selfie with Prime Minister’ AR experience, and ‘Walk with PM’ virtual journeys. The newly introduced AI Holobox showcases interactive 3D avatars of leaders like APJ Abdul Kalam and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, while robotic technology enables personalised handwritten letters from Prime Ministers.

To support tourism integration, PMML offers structured 90-minute tours, multilingual guides, designated holding areas, and ample parking facilities. Industry stakeholders, including associations like TAFI and TAAI, have strongly endorsed its inclusion in Delhi itineraries.

With its blend of immersive storytelling, advanced technology, and cultural depth, PMML is emerging as a powerful tool for tourism promotion and soft diplomacy, aiming to redefine visitor engagement in India’s capital.
