Air travel between India and France is set for a major upgrade as Air France, Air India, and several international carriers expand their services starting September 2025. The move is expected to significantly enhance connectivity, provide travelers with greater flexibility, and stimulate tourism and business exchanges between the two nations.
Air France, the French national carrier, has announced new and enhanced routes, reinforcing its reputation as a key connector between India and Paris. From September, Air France will operate daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore to Paris, with fares starting at around ₹48,855. Adding further convenience for South Indian travelers, the airline will introduce a new Chennai–Paris route in October 2025, with fares beginning at ₹48,572. The services promise premium comfort, seamless in-flight experiences, and options to upgrade to luxury cabins.
Not to be left behind, Air India is expanding aggressively. Beginning mid-September 2025, the Indian flag carrier will offer direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore to Paris, with one-way fares starting as low as ₹22,563. Designed to be both accessible and comfortable, Air India’s routes aim to cater to both business and leisure travelers, featuring in-flight meals, entertainment, and lounge access for premium passengers.
Meanwhile, Lufthansa is strengthening its footprint in India–France travel with new Bangalore–Paris connections via Munich or Frankfurt, with round-trip fares starting at ₹47,914. Other international players are also joining the competition: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will operate Paris–Delhi flights with fares from €501, while Etihad Airways will connect Paris with Chennai through Abu Dhabi at fares beginning from €478.
For travelers from France, expanded options to Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore offer improved access to India’s cultural, historical, and business hubs. Air India, for instance, will operate Paris–Delhi flights from September 12 with fares starting at €303, while Paris–Bangalore flights begin September 16 at €326.
The increase in direct and competitive routes marks a turning point for travelers. Affordable fares, better schedules, and wider choices are set to make journeys smoother, whether for business trips, family vacations, or cultural exploration.
Industry experts believe these developments will boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between India and France, making 2025 a landmark year for bilateral travel. With multiple carriers competing, travelers can look forward to an era of greater accessibility and enriched travel experiences across both nations.
