IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a management agreement with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd for the development of the InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol, further strengthening the company’s growing luxury hospitality portfolio in India. The luxury resort project is scheduled to open in early 2030 and marks another significant milestone in IHG’s expansion strategy across India’s high-growth leisure and destination-led hospitality markets.
Located on a 16-acre land parcel along the Delhi-Jaipur Road in Achrol, Rajasthan, the upcoming resort will feature 225 keys, including 189 guest rooms and 36 luxury villas. Designed to deliver an immersive resort experience, the property aims to cater to leisure travellers, destination weddings, large-scale social celebrations, and premium hospitality experiences.
With this development, the InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol will become the fourth IHG-branded hotel within Jaipur city limits and the second InterContinental property in the Jaipur market. The signing reflects the growing demand for luxury and experiential travel in Rajasthan, particularly around heritage tourism, wellness stays, destination weddings, and high-end leisure travel.
Commenting on the announcement, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated that India continues to offer significant opportunities within the luxury hospitality segment, driven by rising demand for destination-led experiences and experiential celebrations. He further highlighted Achrol’s strategic location near Jaipur, offering a combination of accessibility, heritage appeal, and natural surroundings that make it an emerging hospitality destination.
The signing also aligns with IHG’s broader India growth strategy. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to scale its India presence to over 400 open and pipeline hotels over the next five years. IHG currently operates across multiple brands in India, including InterContinental, Six Senses, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express, with a strong pipeline focused on luxury, premium, and resort destinations.
Industry observers note that Rajasthan continues to attract strong hospitality investment due to increasing tourism, weddings, MICE activities, and experiential travel demand. The InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol is expected to further strengthen Jaipur’s position as one of India’s leading luxury tourism and destination wedding markets.
