Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, left the Port of Miami on Sunday for its inaugural voyage. It is owned by Royal Caribbean. The ship set out on a seven-day tropical island-hopping journey, measuring about 365 meters from bow to stern. The 20-deck ship is divided into eight neighborhoods and was officially inaugurated on Tuesday with the participation of soccer legend Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami colleagues. The cost of the trip is USD 1,723 (about ₹1.4 lakh) to USD 14,205 (₹11.8 lakh) per person, according to the website.

The cost varies according to the dates, locations, and itineraries. The business draws attention to a protracted reservation wait time. According to Royal Caribbean, the launch of the Icon of the Seas in October 2022 resulted in the cruise line’s single largest booking day and highest volume booking week in its 53-year history.

Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, stated earlier this week that “Icon of the Seas is the culmination of more than 50 years of dreaming, innovating, and living our mission – to deliver the world’s best vacation experiences responsibly.” “She is the ultimate multigenerational family vacation, permanently altering the landscape of family travel and realizing every passenger’s dream of a dream vacation.”
