The Government of Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is preparing to present the state’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage on an international platform at the upcoming PATA Travel Mart 2025, scheduled to take place in Bangkok from August 26 to 28. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to boost global tourism and investment in the state.

A special 36-square-metre pavilion will be set up at the event to showcase the state’s tourism potential. The display will highlight iconic destinations like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Sarnath, Kushinagar, and Shravasti, which are integral to the Buddhist Circuit and spiritual tourism in India. The pavilion will feature modern, interactive installations including LED video walls, auto-navigation displays, and a selfie booth enhanced with augmented reality, offering a dynamic visitor experience.

In addition to spiritual tourism, the government aims to promote local handicrafts and the One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative through the exhibit. These elements are designed to portray the diverse and culturally rich identity of Uttar Pradesh. The pavilion’s architecture and presentation will also reflect the state’s spiritual depth and artistic traditions.

A robust marketing campaign is planned to ensure maximum visibility during the event. Tourism commercials will be broadcast on prominent Thai television and radio channels, with additional advertisements scheduled for display across digital boards at major transport and public locations in Bangkok. Print advertisements in leading local newspapers and travel magazines will further enhance UP’s presence at the event.

A dedicated one-day international roadshow is also being organized in Bangkok alongside the travel mart. The event is expected to attract over 100 stakeholders, including travel agents, influencers, and media professionals. Hosted at a luxury venue, the roadshow will feature interactive presentations, networking sessions, and focused discussions on tourism and investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.

This international outreach is part of the state’s broader tourism vision and follows successful recent initiatives like the Bodhi Yatra, which brought ASEAN delegates to visit UP’s Buddhist heritage sites. With the theme “Begin Your Bodhi Journey in Uttar Pradesh”, the state is positioning itself as a premier global destination for spiritual tourism, cultural exploration, and investment in the travel and hospitality sector.
